Newspaper article: same as print version [from Electronic source using APA 5th ed.]
Use the same reference format as for the print version of the article but add "Electronic version" in square brackets after the title.
Author, Initials. (year, month day). Title of the article [Electronic version]. Title of Newspaper, p. page number [if available].
Buchanan, K., & Boles, T. (2013, July 21). Recovery gathers pace as economic recovery doubles [Electronic version]. Sunday Express, p.2.

Buchanan and Boles (2013, p. 2), in an article, declare ...
- If no date appears on the item you are trying to reference, insert (n.d.) where you would normally give the year.
- Named authors (bylines) are sometimes found at the end of a newspaper article. If there is no byline, put the article title in the author position. Your in-text reference will be the first few words of the title of article, enclosed within double quotation marks " ", followed by the year and page number.
- If page numbers are discontinuous, give all page numbers and separate the numbers with a comma.
